That's a beautiful variety! I like Daffodils. They can actually grow here. lol!

That's great that you can grow them. I understand they need the cold winter dormancy in order to thrive. That's what they get.

Daffodils are the only bulb that doesn't really need the cold winter dormancy here. This is why it can be kept in the ground all year. I tried it with tulips which I love and they came out like aliens plants, deformed. It was awful!

Thanks for sharing that knowledge - there are so many fallacies floating around. I'm glad you can sort them out. I would take your word over what I read online. It saves much work and waste later on. My tulips normally don't last long either - maybe a couple seasons. Often they just don't return the following year. Who knows why?

Yes, Daffodils don't need the cold to set the bulbs. Tulips definitely need the high-chilling requirements. This is why the bulbs for tulips can't be left in the ground here. I'll stick with the tropical bulbs like Vallota, Crinum. I have Crinum. They are everygreen and bloom many times throughout the year. My Crinum 'Queen Emma' is flowering right now.

My tulips never last more then a couple years. Not sure why.

That's strange...not unless bugs are eating the bulbs.
