Thank you..I followed up the photo with some hand weeding.
That Brahea palm is slow growing for something that gets pretty massive for a palm.

Is it Brahea armata, elegans, or edulis?

B.armata. It might be trunkless for years.

There's some really nice B. armata palms in Hayward. It is a slow grower, though. There's one really nice specimen in Hayward close to Southland. It's on Calaroga. I remember when it was a small palm with just 2 or 3 ft of trunk back in 1982. Last time I saw it, I think the trunk was 10 or 15' tall (maybe taller).

I've seen that..but now that you remind me ..I wonder if its still there? First thing people do when they buy a home is cut things down.
I tell you Andy, this has not been a great April. Last April we had 7 days of 79f -86f. This year the warmest day was April 1st and only 77f. This years April long range forecast was for the last week to be warm..and that changed. Cool and possible rain.

I can't remember the last time I saw that B. armata. It's been a more than a few years, though.
Yes, I know you've been getting tons of rain! It's been dry as a bone year, again! The hills are starting to turn brown already. It was so nice a green. It was warm today and and it's very warm tonight. Tomorrow suppose to be in the low 80's.

I love all the colors of ice plant. They've been flowering here, also.
