My favorite, tulips! They look great! One day I'll attempt to grow them again.

Thanks. These need to have 800 hours of cold treatment in order to bloom. If you don't have winter, then you can use the refrigerator.

Tulips are sold grown in pots. They're just a lot of work here. I do know people who do dig and put their tulip bulbs in the refrigerator. That's too much work for me. LOL! I have too many plants to take care of.

Yes I agree, who wants to dig anything up? Actually once I dug up somebody's stash of booze which dated back to prohibition of 1920's - green square bottles still with alcohol inside, belonging to whoever lived in this house before me. (that's another story, lol!).

I never dig up my dahlias in the fall, yet sometimes they come back again anyway the following Spring.

That's really neat! Did you get it appraised?

It's funny I don't see a lot of Dahlias here. I know they do well here, though. I think they need lots of water.

Yep, Dahlias do need lots of water, but I'm sure you can grow them. They do need a period of dormancy in a cool dark place for 3 months. Here, the cool autumn weather makes them go to sleep. In your case, you'd have to dig them up and store them in the refrigerator.

I've seen tree dahlia (Dahlia imperialis) grown throughout the year here in California. Most Dahlia species are native to the tropics.
