Hendrix looks a lot like my Mandy...she is Eskimo dog and Shepherd.

Does Mandy have long silky hair? If I could have Hendrix's shedded hair woven it would make for silky soft cloth!!

Yes Gardengnome...she has three coats...a downy undercoat..a fleecy mat and long silky guard hair... check my pics, I think it's page 5..not sure..the pic title is "my beauty".... she is starting her shedding now and I could brush her ten times a day and get a huge mound of hair everytime...lol.

I know what you mean. Hendrix is the same way. His hair is why he likes sleeping in the snow whenever he can (very, very seldom here)

your mention of sleeping in the snow evoked a memory of northern dogs tied to their doghouses but sleeping in a snowbank with their tails across their snouts...

All that hair keeps them toasty warm.

I really pity Mandy and Henrix on hot sultry days... Mandy stays in the basement sleeping on the cold concrete and usually end up with a bladder complaint! poor babe.

lucky for you that Summer loves it, Jacque...Mandy would leave home if I tried that! lol... she is not a water dog...and will hardly look at me after I bathe her...(which I try to do but don't always succeed..) Does Hendrix like the water, Ggnome?

Lori, he likes to drink it and that's about all. When I try to bathe him I get more of a washup than he does!! and he too sulks as if I've done him a big wrong!
