It's a native of Australia, usually to the Eucalyptus forest. Of course, we grow more Eucalyptus species in the world, outside of Australia. I think this is why it's a very common plant here. It's a very drought tolerant plant. There's several size plant besides dozens of colors.

I first seen this on a ladies page on here she lived in Australia but I have forgot her name . I was nt sure if it would with stand our cold winters here Delonix1 hence why I have never tried growing it as I have nt got a green house to store any think that might need warmth during our winters.

Ive killed so many. I'm still not sure what I did wrong.

Not sure what the hardiness is rated as. It does love heat and dry conditions we receive here.

It should easily grow up there. I remember seeing many there in Hayward. I know they love full sun.

I've seen some good ones. I've killed the dwarfs,the giants..all.
How funny that Airport Appliance in Hayward- advertises a lot on local TV..THEY have a nice planting of healthy Roo paws.

Thank you Andy we have very wet weather here some winters can go right down here too in the midlands I ve known it go down to -18

That would be celsius Not that many years ago we had hoar frost I could hardly breathe out side even people here in the UK does nt realise the Midlands can have colder weather than any where else.

Do they grow rhizomes or tubers? Reminds me a little of crocosmias

I'm very lucky I don't ever experience frosts or freezing temps here. I wouldn't be able to grow many of my plants if it got so cold.

I'm not sure. It grows in clumps.

You would be able to grow them but it would be in a heated green house lol. You would get away with griwing them in places like Torquey down south of the UK it has its own micro climate like the south of France.
