These Carl Wilde Strelitzia keep me going while waiting for the real thing to flower. A lot of years but nothing so far.

They look pretty real for artificial flowers, in fact my grandson asked wouldn't they die so close to the radiator. Carl Wilde was good at getting them close to the real thing. When I lived in Tenerife they were so cheap as cut flowers and everyone had them in their gardens but here all I have is leaves. I still think it's these dark Victorian cottages.

They fooled me, but I did think maybe the orange colour was a bit faded.

Having seen them growing in gardens they vary Siris from bright orange to pale yellow but we only ever see the brighter colours here.

They look lovely. I wouldn't dream of cutting mine, seems such a shame, will just enjoy yours.
