Your welcome Amy
Sounds nice Amy with muesli I shall have to try that.

I think I might make that Shortcake at some point, it looks just my kind of thing! :)

Amy, I am in battle with a Field Vole who thinks I have planted my wild strawberries just for him! He darts in and out of the wildflower strip and if he sees the dogs he darts back in again quick! Molly has discovered him and is NOT at all pleased!

Like them just as they come, with some ice cream, maybe a blob of clotted cream, oh I'm salivating.

On looking at the recipe I realized I had made the shortcake but with Blueberries its almost the same mix as scones I seem to remember I made it with apples once as well ,thanks for the reminder I shall be making it again .....
Oh Karen Naughty Vole Molly will have to stand guard over the strawberries to fend it off , the last lovely dog we had was very good at catching Moles .... I can't say I've seen any Voles round here they have long pointy noses don't they ....

It's going to be dreamy Amy. Especially with your home grown berries - sounds good with blueberries too!

No Amy..I think you're thinking of Shrew. The Vole is very cute...kind of dumpy with big eyes...Really cute. :)
18 Jun, 2017
I must Google a Vole Karen just in case he pays me a visit I might keep him as a pet Lol , we have mice they often get into our bird feed bin ....

The proof of the pudding! I've noticed the little wildies out near the apple trees I've been working on. the berries are just ripening. Not seen many robins though. Usually they're first in line. It would take me all day to get a basket full. Have to check my little rock niche...mmm berries! Nothing beats the fresh berry with a little bit of fresh cream. sigh. Also like them with a dab of sour cream in a bowl..with a light dusting of brown sugar. sigh...sigh.

Amy, when we both retired, we agreed to share all the chores. The first 'cleaning' day, I had changed the bed, put the washing in, cleaned the bedroom, bathroom, dining room, conservatory and got as far as the lounge to find himself still sitting there reading the paper! 'This sharing lark isn't working, is it?' 'No' he replied...'Tell you what, I'll do all the cooking and the shopping' 'Deal' says I. Turns out he's not a bad chef at all!

I hope they leave you something Lori you've waited all year for a summer treat ...
Julia that sounds like a good deal, problem is we have such a large garden with digging ,mowing lawns etc. lots of heavy work if I suggest to OH that he could try his hand at more cooking he says, "are you going to do the outside heavy work chopping wood etc. while I'm cooking " there's no answer to that really is there :o( ...
23 Jun, 2017
Oh, maybe not...my garden is tiny compared to yours and in any case, my OH can't tell a rose from a dandelion!
