Right in front of where I park my car on the drive I have a Buddleia that is just starting to flower. This butterfly was on it but then moved and landed on the wall. Couldn't resist taking a photo.

Thanks Dawn. It's the 1st I've seen this year in the garden.

I seen a Red Admiral in spring and a red moth the other day thats about it its lobely to see them is nt it. Butterflies like laying their eggs under leaves when wet so when the garden gets watered I make sure the leaves are wet to.

I didn't know that. Thanks Dawn I will remember that next time I water. Only did a quick water tonight as poor Shadow was "done" today and feeling very sorry for himself.

It is Karen isn't it. I did do some research after I took the photo and it said they can look quite scruffy this time of year, but this one doesn't :-).

A small copper flew into my conservatory, I did a bit of research too & thought this was so interesting.
'In the fleeting existence of a female small copper butterfly, sex is a one-time affair, so by closing / folding away their bright, striking wing patterns, the females make themselves less visible to males.'

Thanks, interesting. I love finding out new things like that, hubby is always saying that he supposes I'm going to look that up on my tablet :-). Not seen many butterflies this year. :-(
