Is that because of Fuchsia gall mite ?
I think if you get them from a reputable specialist nursery they'll be fine. I got this from Other Fellow Fuchsias in Glos. They're a small private nursery and can't afford to sell infected plants ... that would be bad for them so I think the plants are well looked after.
