Wow, I would never take that for a caterpillar Sheila. Looks like a dried stick or twig. Amazing how they protect themselves. Thank You!

Thanks everyone . . . this one was fairly obvious on the plant, but we were very surprised that two more bright yellow ones managed to hide in the branches.

I can't find a dragon moth in my insect field guide. Does it go by any other name? It's not in the observers book of caterpillars either. Would like to look it up.

Well spotted Feverfew . . . it's my memory playing tricks again. This (of course) is the caterpillar of the Grey Dagger Moth - much prettier than the fierce Dragon Moth which does exist!

The pic caught my eye on the thumbnails and I was intrigued... it looked to me like a big hallway with something like a long curved sofa in it :D ty for sharing
