This one was found in my neighbours garden. Her cat wanted to play with it so I bought it home and put it on one of the fuschias

We seem to get quite a few different moths flying at dusk, but we have a few bats flying around as well.

We had a couple of years that we didn't see any bats but they are BACK!

They have a wingspan of 6 - 7 cm. Homebird, and they hover as they take the nectar from the flower just like a miniature humming bird.

We have bats in our loft - only discovered them this year. They don't make a mess and are welcome guests. Apparently they only stay over the summer to raise thier baby (they only have one) and go off to hibernate somewhere colder. We have had an educational summer!

Bats are a protected species and it's lovely that we still have some around. We had a bat box on our old house when we used to live down the road. Not really anywhere suitable here to put one up.
