This looks like the same kind of cabbage that beat mine at the village show! It was MASSIVE! A great colour too. Probably the best looking cabbage I've ever seen!

Thanks. The cabbage whites nibbled at some of the outer leaves, but that's about all they've done. I just haven't seen many this year. I use a lot of citrus peels around them as mulch. The natural citrus oils make a nice repellent.
Thanks Karen: Cabbage rolls are on the menu this week, lol. Home made chicken soup with 'cabbage noodles'. A real treat. I'll be planting more next year for sure. I only have 3 heads.
Thanks Thrup good tasting as well - no comparison to the store bought type. Nice on a sandwich as well.

Bubble & Squeak? Hmm i never heard of it until now. So im off to investigate. Sounds a little like collard green & onions fried in ham hocks. I sure have plenty so i need new recipies.
Thrup sounds like you hit the jackpot with your neighbors. I promised away almost all my tomatoes and barely had any left for myself. I had to wait for tbe next crop to ripen. Im off to check into Bubble & Squeak. Thanks for the suggestion.

Around here, we plant cabbage, etc. now to avoid the Cabbage Whites. Also collard greens, which make a better soup than cabbage.

How have you managed to keep the Cabbage Whites away from your cabbages (which looks great btw) mine ended up like lace, despite being netted up.
