Thanks Penny.Its an old favorite of mine. I think I've had a few since the 80's or so. Usually the cultivar Black gold. This one is not so black.
I just could not get my camera to focus on it to get a clear photo. I tried closer,farther,zoom. It just wanted to focus on the background. I even had the camera lines in a square on the flower...still bad.

The Black Gold sounds nice to Stan.
Yes my phone camera can be the same so I jave to go into my settings to alter it some times.

It looks great! I have one outside, also.
My mother has had one in her front porch for more than 20 years there in Hayward. It gets little attention.

Looks healthy Stan being root bound I can just about see the flowers of where it gets its name from.
