No worries Dawn . . . I wouldn't want you to waste a lot of time on my behalf. I just wondered if it might be Acer 'jordan' which my garden designer is recommending for our new garden to brighten up a shady area? (But he can't build it until next year!)

I don't think so Sheila. I have Jordan. It's a half-moon Acer (Shirasawanum) and its beautiful, but needs shade.

It looks more like a Coral Bark Maple Dawn...it looks like the stems are quite red? Mine is called Sango-Kaku. Its the one I just planted in the meditation corner.

No its not Jordan, I've found the label in the ground and it just says A palmatum, I've looked through my labels and I can find anything that matches. I have purchased Acer conspicuum phoenix but I dont know if its this.
