I'm still waiting for a non white Plumeria I have to flower!
But my Celadine is at last making a potted look. I almost lost her around 2010 or 2011.

Stan,

There's so many varieties that will grow well up there, besides the common Celadine.

?

Oh,I know. Thats what I mean. I'm not seeing them sold here for reasonable prices- except for Celadine. Ebay is the place. I have 2 white Plumeria in bloom, plus the non blooming Obtusa..that also hasa white flower.
I have hope in a rootless cutting I got from the in laws that they said was a red plumeria. ALL summer its been on the windowsill growing from that small cutting to a double 12" plant.
It never would have grown that fast outdoors.

California Sally, Tri-color, Rainbow, Penang Peach, Samoan Fluff should all do very well up there.

Red Plumerias are not the best (in my opinion) for the SF Bay Area (except hottest spots like South Fremont, Santa Clara Valley) because they need a lot of heat! It's probably best you had the red Plumeria indoors. Even in San Diego the Red ones are slower to come in to bloom. I've seen varieties such as Penang Peach, Kalakaua, Celadine and some other white varieties come into bloom in early April here in San Diego.
