Well Karen, here lies a tale, I've had this against an obelisk in the island bed, it's struggled. I moved to my newly cleared, south facing, good soil bed and boom, it's a different plant, I can't decide if it's flowering early or late but it looks very happy :-)
Is your weather cold now karen, it's still mild here.

No, still very mild here Dawn. No coats required, just a cardigan for gardening.

Great, let's make the most of it, I'm sure when I was a child October was winter and certainly no plants in flower.

Yeah...the only flowers around in October back then were Chrysanthemums :)

Such a lovely purple inside to your Freckles, better coloured than mine. I cut mine to the ground a couple of months ago, because it had disappeared up to the stratosphere. Now new shoots about 3 ft tall. I am twisting it around horizontally to get it to flower lower down.

Bang on Karen.
Siris, you wouldn't think they'd be much variation.
No perfume I cannot identify 3d. Thanks Wild

See...you have much colder winters, but this doesn’t flower in Scotland according to advice from Glendoick GC. I suppose its to do with our shorter growing season. Spring doesn’t get going till April here and winter comes in October.
