Dawn it wasn't at its best, the night before they opened they had heavy rain storms and the temperature had dropped so a lot of the Asters were past their best......

You'll have to go again! Good excuse. After you mentioned John Massey's garden I looked on Ashwood's website and it he opens one of the days next year for the NGS on my birthday! It looks super!

Well there you are then Dawn, he has an amazing garden, well worth the journey, and a superb nursery, with an excellent tea room! we spent every Sunday at Ashwood nursery, when we lived in the Midlands, all our plants came from there.....
You could also combine it with a trip to Stone House Cottage Garden and Nurseries nr Kidderminster.....also online!
