A beautiful & very tasty tomato you'd never find at the market. The best tomatoes always come at the end of the season. It's just not fair!

Quite a size is nt it better tasty at the end than no taste at all like some varieties. It gets more tasty at the end so you dont forget the taste for next years buy lol.

lol It's a teaser, just a few at the end before the cold weather takes them away. Maybe I should start them earlier...or move to North Carolina!
I only grow cordons here Karen. We call them indeterminate. These tomatoes are so meaty and delicious, it's hard to describe, but goes very nicely with bacon & eggs in the morning, yum!

That's a beautiful heirloom tomato!
Tomatoes are grown here in San Diego County in winter and in the Imperial Valley. I think we supply the country with winter tomatoes like Florida.

Wow i envy you. My growing season is too short. Just when my plants begin producing flawless tomatoes, the season is over.

That's terrible your season is so short. :>((
I have some cherry tomatoes in my back yard which will most likely produce tomatoes for a couple of years until it's taken out.

I love those with bacon & eggs. Saute a bunch in leftover bacon grease for a couple minutes - a little salt & pepper - yum so good!

It's funny, I only like tomatoes on hamburgers or cooked.

The cherry ones are so good but we are getting a hard freeze tonight so bye bye tomatoes, for me.... :(
10 Nov, 2017
So sorry to hear you're getting a hard freeze tonight. :>((
Can you cover it up until morning?
10 Nov, 2017
Well I could try, but it's only fighting the inevitable. The sun is getting weaker and nature always wins.

I heard you had some extremely cold weather there. It's too bad the cold weather came so early. :>((
It's been absolutely perfect here, high in the the mid-70's to low 80's.

My garden is just getting started. lol! Actually, some plants will be going into semi-dormancy by Christmas. Some plants are just getting going with flowers, like Odontonema callistachyum, Eranthemum pulchellum, and Barleria oenotheroides.
It was a nice 82ºF here today. It's perfect weather!
16 Nov, 2017
I think I'm getting snow tonight - or something cold! My furnace just kicked on!
16 Nov, 2017
OMG! Snow, already? I can't imagine snow this time of year...or anytime of the year. Of course, it doesn't snow here.
It's forecasted to be in the mid-90's here (where I live) on Thanksgiving Day. This is really warm for Thanksgiving. I do remember upper 80's a few years back on Thanksgiving Day, though.

Ive just ordered my seed for next year. The past two years I’ve mostly grown bush vars as they tend to be earlier. But you dont get anything like the length of cropping time you get with cordons, so next year I’m only doing Cordons.
