This is just starting to flower and will do so all winter. While this flower is on a branch that has leaned over because of its weight, other stems are around 15' tall. I have it next to some bamboo to help support it.

These are often planted next to houses because they need the support. It's all part of my plan to have flowers every day of the year. I just got another one that is white.

What a wonderful plan Wylie.
I can see why people plant them next to houses being that tall . I shall be looking forward to seeing your new white one.

Here Wylie, its said that their peak bloom is ruined because it coincides with our rainy season.
They are beautiful. I've seen one in town in bloom. A Dahlia that towers over the fence is a sight.

Our rainy season has begun, just like in the Bay Area. The wind is the problem for something so tall. As this settles in, it has lots more double flowers than it did last year; and hopefully next year will be even better. I am putting a white one next to it.
