It's a beautiful Mandevilla (Dipladenia)! We grow so many of these vines here in San Diego. There's now dozens of varieties for the landscape here. I have the common pink one. There's some that also have variegated leaves along with the variegated or striped flowers.

First variegated I've seen. Nice small civilized vines.

They're very common now. You should start seeing many up northern California soon.

I don't have time for a plant I'd have to constantly bring in for the winter, then plant back out in Spring. They are often treated as annuals here. San Diego on the other hand is perfect for them.

That's strange, I never thought as these plants as annuals up there. I've had several while living up there. They grow very well. The only big problem I would have with them is aphids.

Aphids are an easy target, especially with non-natives plants. A spritz with soapy water usually keeps them in check and won't hurt the plants - a mild soap like Palm Olive.

Unfortunately, sometimes that's not enough here...or you have to do it every day (most people don't have time).
