Banana fell over!

After 8 years(more or less) it just fell over in very light rains. I'm just going to take a machete to it!..Its not safe for the Mango. With weak roots in November? That Banana will not be steady from this point on.

Lori,its about 8 years old. That's pretty much its lifespan. I was hoping to see it bloom, possibly pup. But this species of banana is tissue cultured since they dont pup much if at all.
I got plenty of fun out of it. I was lucky it didn't fall forward and crush the Mango.
I would have died!..lol.

liking the photo of your lovely garden!...not the fate of the poor banana. Will it come again if you cut it back... it's a monocot, right? ...so probably not. sad.
