Carica papaya 'Maradol' - Maradol Papaya

This papaya is growing in a lot that was by a old building fenced off. Unfortunately, you can't see the many dozens of beautiful fruit it had on it. It's amazing it's doing so well on its own in the extreme dry weather San Diego has had for many months. Photo taken December 27, 2017.

Papayas typically grow upright and single-stemmed. I wanted to show in this pic how they can grow well in a situation that is neglected.

So that's what they look like larger. Mine did have that Schefflera look at 4'.
It must love that hot wall..and no chance of root rot.

The fenced-off lot was extremely dry. No chance for root-rot. I wish I could have gotten closer to show the perfect, beautiful fruit! So many fruits and just flawless! My iPhone camera doesn't zoom enough to capture the fruit from the distance I was at.
