The Majesty palms look terrific! It's too bad they over prune them. It guess it's so they don't interfere with that little building.

Most likely. Plus "winter worn" isnt nice to look at so the gardeners just cut them off. Look at what they had done to that King palm last February..every frond cut off. Just a spear.
Came back fine..sheesh.

I remember your pic of the King palm on A St.

When I had my Majesty palm in the ground (in Mission San Jose) it was always extremely green all year. It looked magnificent! I gave it tons of fertilizer and even sulfate of ammonia, it never burned and was dark forest green.
