This is one of many Bismark palms in Balboa Park. There's actually another one just to the left of this palm close to the Museum. Photo taken Jan. 1, 2018.

It's being used more and more here because of its drought tolerance (even in smaller gardens).

It has become a very common palms over the last couple of decades. In the 1980's it was rarely seen in California. It was also extremely expensive for a very small palm.
