The biggest I've read about was over 20' in San Francisco. 1990 is getting farther and farther in the rear view mirror. Plus..every year we are warmer. Its sublte- but the plants show it.
I have to post a photo of a home surrounded by Cherimoya's. Still young..but a lot of them.

Yes, I think it's a good small tree for the SF Bay Area (some areas) Ficus benjamina is somewhat cool-tolerant as along as there's not a lot of frost.
I did read there's some cold weather heading your way next week. I don't think they really know how cold it's going to get, though. The morning lows here have been pretty consistently in the 50's. Yesterday and today low-to-mid-70's for highs. Can't complain too much. I do see some forecasted lows in the 40's for next Monday and Tuesday, though.

I heard they are calling for as low as 37f. But!,I think that the new climate is still holding. This same kind of weather pattern 30 years ago would have delivered a frost. Now,it just makes a chill.
Outside the bay..they might get a freeze. Still, nothing like those orchards used to get long ago.
70F on Saturday- then the plunge in cold Sunday to Wednesday.

Yes, it's not bad if it only last a few days.
It's going to feel very cool here Monday and Tues...highs only in the low-to-mid-60's! Ugh! I've gotten so spoiled with all the those high temps from: 75 - 88ºF over the last four months. 60's will feel very cool! It's the normal temps for this time of year! Lol!

69f today...just beyond belief they are going as low as 33f now for Hayward Monday morning.
Cant be!

It was 70 degrees here yesterday, very gorgeous! This morning the low was 51 degrees. The high is only expected to be in the upper 50'a and it's very windy here. The forecasted low tomorrow morning is 40 degrees. That would be the coldest temp this winter (if it happens)

Its windy, some clouds and I have a bet with a local meteor guy SF wont go below 35 or have frost anywhere in the city.
We've never had a windy frosty night and it's not starting now (if it stays breezy tonight)

Yes, The City almost never gets frosts. Luckily, we don't get frosts here, also. However, this morning was about 41 degrees it felt super cold because of all the very mild lows in the 50's for the last few months. It was still a little breezy last night. I know wind will prevent temps from falling too low and creating frosts...so that's good for you that there was some breeze. Tonight will be another cold one, although supposedly not as cold as this morning. Yay!
The highs are only staying in the low 60's for the next couple of days, also.

They are talking about sprinkles tonight..so there goes anything colder then 35 for sure.
I have to wait until NWS does its official temp for the day before, tomorrow. It was in the 40's by 8:30am today..so couldnt have been too long in the 30's.
But,I sure miss those 70's..or the 81f that was unreal for this time of year. That was the warmest February day ever in town.

I saw it was raining and very cold up there today. I know that "Yukon Express" storm is heading down south. UGH!
It's suppose to be much cooler with rain tomorrow here in San Diego.
I do miss all that really warm weather. I want warm rain.
