Thanks Linda. No known age of the tree. But other historical records point to around 1870 as to many exotics planted in this once large Nursery grounds.

When we go walking sometime we come across a very old oak tree and I have to go and hug it. So much history passed beneath it, pity it can't talk!!!

google Old Tjikko Sweden ... almost 10K old Spruce. I think there is an old sycamore in LA that has been around since the first settlements. Love old trees. Some of the pics of Olive trees in Spain and Italy are just amazing.
there is also a book by a man named Stewart...of the oaks and limes of England.

Well, yeah! :-) I wish I could remember the author of that book on the ancient trees of England... Quercus, Tillia, etc. pics of venerable ancients. It was on my list of must haves... but had forgotten it until you posted your pic. Thanks for the reminder. Hope I can find it!

I hope they photoshop the car out of the pic.

That's funny! The car in question is the same colour and model as my car... a Mazda!
It's amazing what can be done. You almost can't believe your eyes anymore. I had my photo taken at the Motor Licensing Office for photo drivers ID... I didn't realize til after that I had not removed my glasses when they had me stand in front of their camera. They did it for me! When I received my new license in the mail the pic was of a lady without glasses! Bahahaha!
