The deer don't seem to mind.

They manage to find anything green. I have pics on here of my ravaged yucca. They've found it every year for the last three years. Their chewing/pruning seems to spread it, but with our short season it hasn't been bountiful.

Beautiful creatures Lori, But I suppose they have to survive on what they can.

That's quite true, Linda. Early spring is the hardest time. Does are carrying fawns and they are down to eating the buds on the undergrowth and evergreen trees. They even tried to sample my rhodos, which are evergreen. I checked the plant and it's lost a branch or two..just hope they didn't swallow it!

Lovely to see these beautiful animals, but most of us don't have to put up with them decimating our gardens.

yes they can do serious damage, if they decide they like one plant or another. They've sampled the irises, monarda and sweet william. They completely pruned down one of my hostas...(a small blue one) but left the larger ones and the yellow ones. I think they haven't discovered the hostas because they are late emerging from the frozen ground.

It amazing how they survive when it's so cold and the ground is frozen.
