Is it covered in snow now?

Fortunately, no! It would have been a crying shame if the Crocuses had been buried beneath a thick blanket of heavy wet snow! Their flowering period is already quite brief without them getting covered in snow!

We hardly had a centimetre of snow & what did fall was blown about by the strong, very cold easterly wind into "wavelets" on the grass in front of the balcony.

At about 8am I opened the balcony curtains & noticed the snow on the grass but I also noticed that the first mini-Daffs to open on the railings in a black plastic pot were hanging down as if they were too dry, impossible of course with all the rain & snow falling on them during the past weeks! Then I realized it was because of the hard frost & the bitterly cold Siberian wind & not because they were too dry! By around 12.30pm they had returned to their original position! ??

Below you will find a link to the photo I took this morning:

?? I've had another look at the photo & I see I didn't separate the words "Mini-Daffson"! I had to read it twice before I realized what I had done! ?

What else?

See who else is growing Crocus chrysanthus (Crocus).

See who else has plants in genus Crocus.
