Do you propagate them by leaf cuttings Paul?

I've tried several times but never been successful. I'll keep at it though. :).

The main thing is to water them in but keep the soil on the dry side because if too wet it will rot them.

That's exactly what happened to my leaf cuttings. So that's what I've been doing wrong.

We all have some problems, when gardening, from time to time Paul, and it's good to try and help each other if we can. A lot is to do with the weather, the time of year you prune, take cuttings and how to go about it, and even then it's not always successful. The main thing is to have a go with propagating cuttings, and if you get some extra plants...great!

Well Linda, I appreciate you setting the record straight. I may have followed somebody's 'half-baked' advice, lol. Every one of my cuttings turned to mush. Now I know why. My Violets had given me a few babies, but from off shoots, not cuttings and I'll be giving a couple to mom for mother's day on May 13th. Thank You!
