I was lucky to get a photo of this because it is open for only a couple of hours in the late afternoon. I noticed around noon that it was going to open, so I checked on it frequently until 4 P.M. It will close soon and not reopen.

I have missed several flowers in the past. I go out at night looking for snails and slugs, and there are the spent flowers I didn't see. It really needs to be kept at the front of everything.

That's such a shame that must be so frustrating for you to find the spent flowers . Yes best time to hunt the snails .
Yes you need to be on your toes to catch them at the right tie shame hou could nt plant them closer to your home .

They are in a pot on top of the antique oven, which is right outside my back door. I don't use the old oven - it is very poor for heating the house as 99% of the heat goes up the chimney. So I put a board on top of the tiles outside and put pots there.

Wylie I posted something like that. I forgot to ask the ID at the Oakland nursery that has them in display. Could you take a look and hazard a guess?
