Tulips

Gorgeous! I love tulips! Unfortunately, they don't grow here very well at all. It's too hot here during winter.

Can you leave them in the ground all year? Here they have to be lifted and put into a refrigerator (too much work lol!)

I grew tulips once and left them in the ground and when they came up they looked like aliens from another planet! lol! They were very deformed from not getting enough cold to set their needs.

when planting tgey need a lot of drainage Andy ones I have had put by the path which has a lot of stones they come back each year or where a lot of grit has been added a lot over here don't come back so I now put them in pots mixing a lot of grit and placing them on a layer of grit they always come back. I ve done one pot a new one for this year which has come up like aliens as you say yet the rest I did at the same time in pots have come up ok so I think its got to be in the bulb it self.
