This is a very common vine that blooms almost all year and is very drought tolerant. It grows almost everywhere at the low elevations of California. Photo taken March 29, 2018.

This vine grows very large. This vine grows in many areas, along the freeways around cyclone fences.

That's as heavy a bloom as I've seen on them. I knew somebody Andy who had that and Bougainvillea and I think Passiflora all growing together. I wish I had taken a photo back 12 or 13 years ago.

Penny,
Yes, it's a very nice vine to brighten up a drab area.

Stan,
I know they grow very well up there and are a very common, also. This vine grows too fast for me, though.

I have one that's growing with Virginia Creeper...lots of water at present ...but good to know it will tolerate dryness.
