This is my favorite Epiphyllum. It has such a neo-colored flower. Photo taken May 13, 2018.

Lori,
I have four varieties. I have the pink, magenta and two white varieties. I love when they flower. I also have dragon fruit, which has the largest white flowers and is related to Epiphyllum.

I have a night blooming cereus that a friend from Mass. sent me years ago. it's growing larger but it's not exactly the best climate for them...so it's been mainly a houseplant. I wanted to grow it for the blooms...but as yet, nothing to report. My friend had a shade house constructed for them and a special space in his house. He used to sell and trade on Ebay.

Lori,
You most likely have Epiphyllum oxypetalum, it's a night flowering species. It grows very big here. I see them very large up into trees. I'm trying to get my largest (8' or 2.5 m) one to grow up into the Jacaranda tree.

What a wonderful colour it is! ??

Yes, I really like it. It only flowers once a year, though. My white ones and Golden Charm variety can flower several times a year.

oh that sounds so picturesque, Andy. I hope the epi and jacaranda grow and flower together. Subject for a future blog maybe?

The Jacaranda is flowering now; however, the Epiphyllum oxypetalum is not. It's not getting enough water, unfortunately! :>(( With the horrible drought and the water prices constantly going up my garden is really suffering.
