Calla foliage and stargazer Asiatic Lilies...

Sadly my calla lily never bloomed.

oh that is too bad..Scotkat. Your flag just says B.I. so I'm not sure where you are. I have to lift the corms every fall, are you able to leave yours in the ground? I started with a three corm package last season and I had enough corms to plant four clumps and some to share, have to admit though that the bloom was very quick.

Wow...what a gorgeous combination, a real show stopper ! It's wild, the way the same plants will react in different locations. I plant and leave mine in the ground and the blooms last forever,instead of the blooms dieing back, they will eventually turn green, like the stem.

Thanks Janey! Yes! I have noticed that too, Flcrazy! the green fold that was the petal encloses a bunch of berry-like bulblets...and the seedhead reaches toward the ground as though dropping the seeds/bulblets onto the soil...
amazing plants these... I like them more and more.

Will post up a pic of the bulblets...just dropped them onto the soil and lightly covered them! frost last night so I will lift them and bring them in to overwinter in the basement.
