Core Values x (Magnificent Hummingbird x Audbon's Oriole)

Core Values x (Magnificent Hummingbird x Audbon's Oriole)

TET, 8" across. I really like the pollen parent, but this is much better. The colors are brighter, the flower is much larger, and it doesn't have problems opening fully.

Thanks! I can see this as a future introduction. I am naming my registration now after the Picos da Ilha da Terciera, using the local names for them.

Wow!

This one really has been a wow - it has performed really well during the drought we had in June and the first part of July. It is also pollen fertile.

Think it'll have to go on my favourites very unusual.
Mine are going over so quickly in the heat this year can't remember the last time it rained but a very long time ago, with the size of the garden I can't water everything just trying to keep anything newly planted or that looks like its suffering watered, but everything's suffering now ! I love the sunshine but I'll never moan about rain again lol.

It is the seedling (Magnificent Hummingbird x Audubon's Oriole) that gave it that pattern. I have found the sdlg is pod infertile, so I have had to use it as pollen parent only. I restricted watering only the areas where pods where and a few favorite plants, so it took about 20 mins. Back in April, a neighbor wanted to trim the tops of a couple of trees that where getting a little tall and blocking his view of the sea from the second floor of his house. I said I would take care of it, and pruned them all very low and turned it all into mulch that has helped.

I'm going to mulch all the plants that have suffered this year in autumn, the good thing is the compost bins are rotting down well so I'll have quite a bit but not enough for the whole garden !

I am planning on making more mulch in September. So many shrubs and trees need to be pruned and I want to get it done before the constant wet of winter.
