Delonix - it is unusual to see these large (60cm plus) cultivars reduced over here unless the bloom is over. All that I can assume is that they had stock pressures. It would probably become a weed in your location though as it is producing a few plantlets on the leaves now.
Balcony - it is a real gem. Not twelve quids worth but I couldn't walk on by at a couple of quid!

I guess it's because it's a very common landscape plant here. The Big Box stores bring in so many of these plants and they never seem to sell them all.
It's very drought-tolerant and grow, bloom most of the year here.

This one certainly has a very long bloom period even in our climate.

Yes, they're almost always in flower...I guess that's why it's such a popular plant.

Its very beautiful. Imagine living where this is almost a ‘weed’!

The red variety is the one which can take over and become weedy.

Karen - Delonix is blasé about these things. Super ornamentals here = weeds on SoCal!!!
Delonix - even here I'm finding the Mother of Thousands type species are invasive! I don't mind as they're shallow rooted and easily culled but boy do you have to keep your eyes open! The small plantlets appear to be far hardier than the larger plants are.

Meanie,
You're too funny! :>))
I used to have Kalanchoe daigremontiana and it used to have tons of plantlets growing everywhere. I can understand why it would be invasive there.
