Here they are used in the orchards for cross pollination. I didn't know the were edible

Its been used for eating for years here Paul right back to the Victorian era . Interesting though they are used where you are for cross pollination. Here we have delicious apples here from very old stock varieties I am sure there is only one orchard left that holds them all we were denied them to buy as we had to take the tasteless EU apples when we joined the EU.

You were denied delicious apples because you joined the EU? I fail to see the connection. Is that some kind of reprimand? It's like being sent to your room without any super because you were naughty.

Its all to do with trade when we joined its become now we have to take their perfectly shaped tasteless food a cucumber has to be a certain shape a banana has to be a certain shape certain things can only be so big EU regulations there is even thousands upon thousand of rules and regulation about milk and mostly every thing else. We have to store cheese in a fridge butter etc butter should never be stored in a fridge also eggs my mum never had a fridge until we joined the EU we were never ill from any food cheese when made and stored is never kept in a fridge.

We also have regulations that don't make sense to me. Like those tasteless red bombs at the market they call tomatoes. I never knew what a tomato should taste like until I grew my own.

Wonky vegetables taste o.k. so why do we have to have fruit and vegetables looking perfect......I'm picking my cucumbers now and they taste really good....and they aren't a perfect shape either.

Exactly Paul even I buy my own tomato plant a tumbler I put into a hanging basket as I have nt the room one plant is enough for me I ve bought a yellow one this year.

To me Lindak its all a scam from the start reading and watching all the things that have been revealed since we joined the EU which has been the demise of our businesses here not just with food but other things to because of regulation from the EU to sell their products on to us.

France Italy dont abide by the EU rules in food they only obey what they want its only us that abide by them. It was said only when we joined the EU house wives did nt want mis shaped food which has been proven to be lies just like when they burned all our cattle that was to fill EU rota to buy their meats I know for a fact .
and nearly two years prior to this coming out the government was phoning around wood yards asking how many big pieces of wood like sleepers they had and ordering vast amount to burn the cattle this was on the radio James Whale talk sport wood yards were phoning in telling him what quotas they were giving for order and the dates .

I recall in the 70s my husband and I use to go to Eversham where all the fruit and veg grew lots of orchards pick your own strawberries pick your own all tasty but sadly all gone now.

When I go shopping I always try to support our farmers as they seem to be getting a raw deal. I get meat from the local butcher.

So do I Lindak ☺ yes our farmers do get a raw deal.
