Is that Black Game Cock? 3pb. It's beautiful. Mine isn't flowering yet, nor is my other Louisiana Iris.

Thank you 3pb. It's a gorgeous colour. The plant, actually I divided into two, are looking good. I'm hedging my bets, one in the ordinary ground, one the pond shelf, along with Spicy Cajun. Must look back and see when S.C. flowered last year, no sign of buds though ......June 3rd last year.

Great idea splitting it and planting into the ground . I wonder why your other S C did nt flower nor your Louisiana Iris.

Don't know 3pb, Both Black Gamecock and Spicy Cajun are from the water loving Lousiana group of Iris. Maybe they need feeding with a fertiliser unlike Beardeds which don't and they like an acidic soil.

Yes that might be the answer then Siris my garden is acidic where my Bearded one is but my Black Gamecock is in the water feature.
