Day lily - afternoon

The color of the eye does compliment both. I am a little surprised by the color change. Usually as a daylily ages during the day, it goes from light to dark and then has one last flash of beauty after the sun goes off it. This seems to do the reverse.

I like the colour of this time the best. I like the purple ring around the centre.

This is in a pot bought back from the nursery last week when in bud and in the morning it was a creamy/peachy colour but the sun was so hot I moved it into the shade at lunchtime. Could that be why?
