Agapanthus praecox 'Flore Plena'

This is a double. The buds don't always open fully, giving a ball effect. The odd thing about this are the groups of flowers that stick out from the main stem, like what has happened on the left. I have 3 scapes on this plant, and all 3 have them.

If you don't group several shades of agapanthus together, the differences get lost on the casual observer. The plant is fairly common around here, although not a lot of variety. My purple ones are starting to open.

Have to agree with you there I have a white and a blue which look nice together.
You ll have to find more varieties. I shall look forward to seeing your purple ones.
