Here again, I'm blaming my camera...or maybe it's just the light. ;-) The second set of petals have a metallic blue cast, quite different. I'm hoping for some dark blue ones from the seeds I planted last summer... I'm just glad they've decided to stay. My hollyhocks, so plentiful last year, have thinned out and I'm not sure I'll see any flowers from the plants of this summer, drought and late spring to blame, I fear.

I'm fostering this small clump of them in hopes that I can expand them to two other locations. Seedlings are plentiful and there's a white among them..but no dark blue yet!
