Keith, do you think I could grow this in my greenhouse all year around, or does it need winter heat?

Grow it in the greenhouse. Large pot (10 litre+) which you store frost free over the winter. In the spring (mid/late April) tip out, repot the tubers and put in the greenhouse. Minimum water (from the bottom) until the shoots emerge.
