Very nice produce esp. the watermelons. Do you know the variety?

Yes Wohlibuli, I still have some of the seeds. It is called:
WATERMELON QUETZALI
I ordered them from JOHN SCHEEPERS Kitchen Garden Seeds.
They were really tasty too.(The melons..not the seeds - grin)

LOL... That's terrific...I wish I could grow melons... two years ago I had a vine start in one of the flower beds....it turned out to be a cantaloupe and I got three fruit on it...but my growing season wasn't long enough for it to ripen on the vine... they didn't taste very good,I'm afraid, but it was a revelation that the seed survived in the compost and germinated in time for it to set fruit!! I just put it down as one of nature's miracles!!

Ahhh... the benefit of Sunshine of which I have been moaning and pouting over the lack of this summer here in the Pacific Northwest! Oh well there's always next year!
Nice work Gardengnome or should I say play? :)

yep...Polly...play would describe it better.

it's odd, Pollyannaever, that the weather we are having at the present time reminds me of the west coast.... the air is moist and cool overnite...gets up to about 72 degrees after a morning shower...sunny through the peak of the day then about 3:30 - 4p.m it clouds over and we have a late day shower...then it clears up at about 7 pm. and it's clear all night... the garden loves it... and it's been cool enough that I can work through the day...i've dug new beds and I'm changing a pathway and I can play all day...transplanting and digging...and planning...lol. You have some lovely food to show for your "play" Gardengnome!

Lori your weather sounds ideal for doing all the things you plan. Can't wait to see (you will show us won't you?) your progress. During the hottest months here, I can only work in the early morning or the late afternoon. Even so that leaves most of the year for gardening in pleasant weather and the growing season is extensive. Thanks for your comment.
