It's spectacular in the autumn, but something of a one-trick pony. I feel its days are numbered

I feel the same about ours, we don't even get a decent amount of berries on it, and hardly any leaves!

I have tried growing perennial sweet peas over it, but they are high maintenance plants, needing dead-heading every other day, and their foliage often looks pretty grim by mid summer
