How quaint and pretty does this stay this size.

Only if you prune it really hard after it stops flowering. Otherwise it gets about five feet tall and wide, very woody and top heavy. But it flowers at least twice, and often three times every year!

Lucky you. We have snow!!!

I keep saying, must get one of these...but where would I put it! Already got several in my favourites. How has it coped with the snow?

Hasn't batted an eyelid. -5C forecast for tonight though

Do they grow very quick Andrew? I've bought a small one in a 9cm pot and now thinking I should have bought a bigger one.

This is nearly five years old. It gets an extreme haircut every time it finishes flowering, so they grow reasonably fast.

Thanks Andrew, so you trim rather than cut hard back,

Thanks for the info, Andrew. Everyone seems to say the same, does well even flowering in Scotland.

DA - I let it develop a short stem, then cut it back rather like a buddleia - hard
Sue - we had -5C last night and it is entirely unaffected

Thanks Andrew
