I hope your plants survived under their winter coat Bjs. I hope this is not a warning of the winter we are likely to get now because as soon as the snow melts the plants think Spring has arrived. I'm home again and playing catch up. Friday am we woke up, high on the North Yorkshire moor looking over Ampleforth. There had been a flicker of snow the night before but got quite a shock to discover 4" of snow had fallen overnight. I have to give the road gritting men up there a gold medal for clearing the roads to make it safe for us to continue our travel south. There was very little lying snow until we reached our next port of call in the Cotswolds south of Cirencester. There was a good 4" there too. In spite of the bright sunshine on Saturday and Sunday it did not disappear totally until Monday am. 4th February. We got home late Tuesday evening and there had been no snow here at all. There has been lots of hard frosts and now rain and gales. It is definitely not gardening weather here.
