They're really lovely Nancy, do you paint professionally or just for pleasure?

Thankyou for you kind words. I am an art teacher actually , teaching in 4 elementary schools with 500 students. Needless to say there is not much time during the school year for doing much of my own work, but that is why I like taking photos as I will have losts of subject matter for when I do retireand have time to myself.

I've recently discovered soft pastels... I'm also in the process of painting peonys... my attempt at a watercolour peony was a disaster!! but I'm still into the acrylics and i've tried oil pastels but don't like them as much as the chalk. Of the three background colours I like the central blue/mauve one the best... It must be very satisfying to be the person to encourage all the young eyes to see the world around them...I always had the interest as a child but never anyone who could guide and encourage. Of all the subjects, most often students look upon Art as a "fun" course (and of course it is, thankfully) without realizing how much there is to learn from their instructor.
