It might be more than a year before this happens again. Tropicals in a non tropical climate can do things so much slower.

Its slow to recover from cuttings Penny. I might still...but that would mean a few YEARS of smaller leaves growth out of the main stem.

For cuttings Penny..plants like these I usually root and grow indoors for a summer. Its too slow outdoors and winters are deadly for small young plants sometimes.

Yes indoors would be best with the weather we are getting being unpredictable too. Smaller leaves would be better than nothing Stan.

My large Monstera deliciosa produces a lot of fruit; however, the ants get the fruit most of the time.

It's a long wait for them to ripen. Timing isn't easy on these plants as they are usually a big groundcover. My all green Monstera's fruit get eaten first by possums,then maybe raccoons and rodents.
This type of Monstera is 100% vine. So I had fruit 5' off the ground. Only one!

If you get an old plastic pop bottle and put one large spoon full of borax or baking powder mix with sugar and runny honey and a bit of water shake cut a little hole in the side top so the hole faces upwards on its side so ants can fit in lay it on its side where the ants are they will go for the mix and leave your plant alone. They don't like mint either.

That's interesting 3d. Our garden is full of very tiny ants but they aren't any trouble unless disturbed. When they came into the house one year a trail of borax did for them very quickly. Will make a note of your idea. I believe borax is off the market these days but don't know if borax substitute has the same effect.

If you have two different lots of ants separate areas and one is intruding in a bed where you don't want them if you dig up part of the other ants with a shovel and place those aunts with the aunt you don't want in your bed both ants will go to war and in a day or two your bed will be clear of any ants.

The only pest ant here is the tiny Argentine ant. Invasive. It loves my dry gardens rocks to nest under. Warm.
SO far the wife keeps any ant invasions at bay. I remember many moons ago my single guy homekeeping skills were not nearly as good. Ants were a real pest.
