Wow Sheila, this look really lovely. I agree with Julia, the path is a great idea! Invites you to move around the garden.

Many thanks Thrupenny and Kate. When we moved here 18 months ago I asked a professional to design me an informal garden that I could walk around . . . when I saw his plan I just said “wow”! Very happy with it 🙂🙂

Thank you Sheila!

Your professional must of been Japanese enspired Sheilabub as they too believe in a winding path as they say a straight path is not good as it holds evil spirits.

Sheila, this could be from a posh gardening magazine, superb design!

Maybe he was, Thrup - and I've always loved Japanese gardens.

Thank you Shirley, I feel very lucky :))

That path is a triumph. It makes your garden seem so big! Lovely Sheila..you are right to be thrilled with it. :)

Thanks so much Karen. It is amazing how much bigger it looks compared to the central square lawn surrounded by big old shrubs that was here before :)

Yes Sheila, I visualised it without the path and it looks so much smaller. Great design lesson for all-of us!

If anyone is starting from scratch, talking to a designer can open up so many imaginative ideas - and it doesn’t have to cost a lot!

It looks lovely Sheila, and the diagonal axis makes the garden look both larger and more interesting. No wonder you are so pleased with it!

Sheila, the path is a lovely feature that adds interest, to an already very attractive garden.

Ooh Sheila, it's looking fabulous, I know it's last May. The sweeping paths are what I desperately want!!

Thanks Janey, the imaginative path was just what I wanted (so lucky to have met a good designer) . . . it’s amazing how it makes the garden seem bigger 🙂.

And to have contrasting pavers with the brick edging to bring it together...just lovely!

Yes, that’s your artist’s eye appreciating the harmony Janey . . . thank you 🙂
