I find this is a bit 'thuggish' in my garden so have to remove a few of them.

Yes, it does spread itself around a lot. I am going to dig them up after flowering & then plant back the best bulbs, I presume the largest, would that be right?

I love all Alliums but hate their straggly leaves. The make everything look so untidy I find.

I bet you can smell these before you reach them ,yes I would choose the largest bulbs Ff ..

I didn't know that they had a scent! Have just stuck my nose on them to find out & yes they have but I wouldn't say it was very strong, perhaps my sense of smell is waning, I hope not.
I agree about the leaves Waddy, but I've held on to these as I really like the flowers & the other herbaceous plants
fill in the space when they have finished.

Is that a poppy growing underneath Feverfew? I have a few around. I found some poppies growing near a stone wall on one of my walks so bought a few seed-heads home and scattered them.

Poppies grow like weeds in my sandy soil. This year loads have come up & I think they might be from my neighbour's wild bird feed, so I don't know what they will be like, possibly just the wild type of opium poppy with lavender
flowers. Will have to wait & see.
